4th February is the beginning of Green Dragon Year

Add the energies of Heavenly Stem Yang Wood to the Earthly Branch energies of the Dragon: Yang Earth, Yin Water and Yin Wood to see the 5 elements in this year's pillar. Then add the new energies to your Inner Alchemy Astrology Chart. What does this predict for you?

And in Feng Shui we have a special year, as 2024 is the start of the 9th period which is governed by the energy of the 9 or Fire Star. This can mean changes to the energy in your home or workspace, greater than the usual annual changes. Meditation and personal energy is powerful in opposing negatives: and looking after the body, mind and spirit is the best way of enhancing the good fortune our planet brings us.

For those who have already done a Feng Shui Flying Star chart of their home or workspace, then the salt, water and coins cure can be placed in the West of the house where the 5 star will fly in: this time honouring the 9 star ruler in the South West can be auspicious.  The Wulou or calabash can be placed in the South East but this double gourd is the symbol of communication between heaven and earth and is lucky anywhere.

What is the dragon about?

They are creative, innovative, authoritative and original with lots of ideas and visions that they are driven to share with the world and they can bring in prosperity and good luck. The dragon is often considered the most powerful and auspicious of the 12 Chinese animals and the Wood (green) Dragon the preferred combination out of the 5 element pairings. With wood energy adding generosity, compassion and long-term vision, and very good energy for education, reading, learning, artistic exploits.

This heavenly stem wood energy can bring its own wealth with the earthly branch Dragon’s: Yang Earth, Yin Wood & Yin Water: yin and yang wood bringing yet more harmony. Another comment is that there is no fire or metal in this year pillar, so do you personally need that for success? In which case where else can you find it?  Hint: try our Inner Alchemy practices, we have some very special visiting teachers this year, see below.

In ancient times, people thought that Dragons were best suited to be leaders of the world with their character traits of dominance and ambition which can come over as out of place bossiness. But let’s take advantage of this energy of bravado, confidence, tenacity and intelligence: take those challenges by the horns and try some risk taking.

Unique amongst the 12 animals, the dragon is a mythical creature which gives it a special supernatural status unparalleled amongst the other animals.  Dragons are known for talent and excellence, they are independent, non-traditional and strive for a smooth future path.

But is the dragon purely mythical? There are many stories…..and you do not have to go to Ancient China to find one; St George, the national saint of England is forever twinned with one. However, Dragons are sometimes regarded as aggressive, angry and not open to criticism, although they do not see themselves as irritating and arrogant.

So that is the energy that Wood Dragon will bring to the planet but what about to individuals? Well, it always depends on your Day Master and the balanced nature of your chart.
